The location of Primary 1 could hardly be
more perfect. Sited at the east end of
Edinburgh's New Town, it is only a short stroll
from the city centre, and enjoys more than the
average amount of local amenities.
Small local shops are plentiful, and just
around the corner in Broughton Road, you'll
find a large Tesco supermarket. The Botanic
Gardens are just down the hill, and as you
walk up the hill you pass the trees and
gardens of Bellevue Crescent, the recently
restored Mansfield Traquair Centre, and then
Broughton Street with its many bars, cafés,
restaurants, and an eclectic mix of shops-
from designer goods to the famous Crombies
the butchers. At the top of the hill you'll find
the St James Centre, the Omni entertainment
complex and a little further on, the rear
entrance to Waverley Station in Calton Road
and then Princes Street itself.
Across the road from Primary 1 you can
catch buses to the South Side, West End or
Morningside, and the central location also
makes it ideal for getting around by car.
Bustling during week days and quiet in
evenings, it's a great area to set up home.
